"Der Freischütz", a German romantic opera by Carl Maria von Weber and Friedrich Kind, celebrated its premiere in Berlin in 1821 to enthusiastic acclaim. The opera, known for its emotional and gripping music, is one of the most popular in the German-speaking world. It will be performed for the first time on the lake stage in Bregenz, with director and stage designer Philipp Stölzl and Conductor in Residence Enrique Mazzola, who are working together again after the success of Giuseppe Verdi's "Rigoletto".
