Many people move away from home to foreign countries for love. Nancy Mettke moved her whole life to another continent because she also fell in love – in love with the mountains, with unspoilt nature and with the Austrian Alps. Born and raised in Berlin, she has always enjoyed different cultures and travelling the world. Ten years ago, she decided to settle in the beautiful Ötztal, at the heart of the Tyrolean mountains.

In 2013, Nancy Mettke joined the Waldklause team as a certified beauty specialist. Two years ago, she became the head of the hotel’s nature spa. Nancy thrives on pampering guests from head to toe, and indulging them with soothing facial treatments, relaxing massages and the perfect manicure or pedicure. Her philosophy is based on an understanding of her guests’ each and every need. A visit to her spa is all about you. Her curiosity and commitment to continuously expand her expertise have also led her to acquire qualification in Nuad Thai yoga practice. Several times a week, she offers immersive Thai yoga classes. Currently, she’s also training as a Pilates instructor, eager to provide guests with even more options to relax and unwind.

It’s hardly surprising that Nancy Mettke spends most of her free time in the mountains, taking in the stunning scenery of Alpine nature. She enjoys taking her dog Pina on strolls along the Ötztal Ache; hiking in the Ötztal mountains; or climbing the Stuiben Waterfall via ferrata.
