That is why we are very proud that the Ministry of Environment awarded us the Austrian Ecolabel in September 2021. In September 2025, we were successfully recertified, thereby confirming our ongoing commitment. With this award, we commit ourselves to comply with numerous strict criteria and to take on environmental and social responsibility together. This is monitored by independent organizations. The Alpbacherhof is located in the heart of Alpbach, a small mountain village in Tyrol, surrounded by unspoilt nature. A healthy work-life balance is hugely important for the health and well-being of our staff. Only in this way can they recharge their batteries and go about their daily work feeling healthy and energised. The wonderful natural surroundings of the Alpbacherhof and the many leisure activities on offer help to foster this balance. From skiing, snowboarding, ski touring or winter hiking in winter to hiking, enjoying nature, climbing, cycling or swimming in summer, there is a wide range of activities to choose from.

Environment
Whenever possible, we try to integrate sustainability into our everyday life. This starts by using local materials in rooms, cooperating with local producers and consciously raising awareness among our employees. In order to keep our carbon footprint small, we pay attention to plastic avoidance, proper waste separation, environmentally friendly room cleaning and digitalization in everyday hotel life.
Our hotel includes a 7,000 m² panoramic meadow "Natur.Juwel", which offers our guests additional retreats and fits perfectly into the natural scenery of the Alpbach Valley. Around a landscaped walkway, native fruit trees, lovingly created flower beds and a large herb snail stretches a natural, colorful flower meadow, which is kept pesticide-free and mowed only after flowering. In this way, we ensure the preservation and propagation of flowers and grasses and provide a naturally preserved environment for bees.

The team is one of the most important key success factors of the Alpbacherhof and we value our employees highly. Their kindness, their competence and their hospitality is one of many pillars in our hotel. We offer our employees the opportunity to take part in individual training programs, which are determined in a collective meeting. We also offer a familiar and safe working environment, the chance to always learn something new and to contribute and develop personally.
The vision of the company was defined in a collaborative strategy workshop. This also resulted in an employee handbook, which is given to every employee at the beginning of their career. All measures for employees are summarized here. An employee information session is held at least twice a year.
