Of small(est) steps and big discoveries
The Übergossene Alm Resort at the foot of the Hochkönig in Dienten, Salzburg, manages the balancing act between a feel-good active holiday with the family and an enjoyable wellness break for two fabulously well. The 4-star superior resort, named after the legend of the Übergossene Alm, is located at 1,250 metres above sea level in the middle of the Alpine landscape and right at the entrance to the Hochkönig hiking and skiing area, making it perfect for an active wellness holiday with plenty of exercise in the fresh mountain air all year round.

Warm, original, sensitive and close to people.
Hosts Verena and Wolfgang Burgschwaiger, together with the hard-working Alpine dairymen and women from the Übergossenen Alm and their diverse range of offers, skilfully combine a conscious experience for family time together with adventurous moments as a couple in the natural surroundings of Dienten. In conversation, they give us an insight into exactly how this works and where the best routes can be found for every holiday constellation.

Mr and Mrs Burgschwaiger, like many of your guests, you are not only parents, but also a couple. Which romantic summer highlight on the alpine pasture do you recommend for a time-out for two?
Verena and Wolfgang Burgschwaiger: Basically, moments for two are always very important. Whether with a good glass of wine on our sun terrace or as part of a soothing hike at the foot of our Hochkönig - there are many ways to create a highlight. And with us, parents can enjoy this with a clear conscience, because children from the age of 3 are well looked after here at the Übergossene Alm Resort. Our child carers provide a varied programme in our indoor and outdoor Kinderalm, ensuring that there is never a dull moment.

Verena, can we ask you about hiking? You like to follow in the footsteps of the legend of the Übergossenen Alm yourself. How do you do this when you are out and about with your son Moritz and what ‘moves’ you alone?
Verena Burgschwaiger: The route around our lakes is easy to walk with the pushchair, and I've always enjoyed going to the Erichhütte in the direction of Taghaube with the ‘Kraxn’, the back carrier. I love spending time with my son, especially at this age everything is very entertaining. I always like to think back to when he took his first small steps on foot, now he is already whizzing away from me. Every now and then, however, I also enjoy spending a few hours in the mountains with a good friend. What moves me alone? Clearly the view and the peace and quiet to clear my head. I need summer, sun and water to recharge my batteries, so it's obvious that my favourite place is near our alpine lakes. Moritz is already enjoying our marvellous alpine lakes and the feeling of refreshing his little toes in them.

Wolfgang, which somewhat challenging route would you recommend if you really want to lace up your hiking boots as a couple, without children?
Wolfgang Burschwaiger: Without a doubt, the hike to the Klingspitz. I can recommend this somewhat more challenging tour to our sporty guests with a clear conscience. The medium-difficulty and approx. 3.5-hour hike is best started with the hiking bus in the direction of Filzensattel. From the bus stop, continue along the main road until a forest road begins on the right. After a further two kilometres, a forest road branches off to the right to the Gabühelhütte. Continue to the Steinbockalm, the Lettenalm and finally to the Klingspitze. This tour promises marvellous views before returning along the same route. Alternatively, you can choose the route via the Geralmen, Eggeralm, Hintermoos Federal Sports School to the Hintermoos hiking bus stop. Back at the Übergossene Alm Resort, tired muscles can be revitalised with a swim and a sauna. Our culinary variety made from regional treasures of the region also gives you plenty of energy and replenishes your own energy stores, so to speak! After such an adventure, where you have created memories together, you will be even more excited to discover nature again as a family.

The Übergossene Alm Resort therefore offers the perfect combination of active and wellness holidays, whether for family adventures or romantic couple's moments. The picturesque hikes on the Hochkönig and the first-class relaxation options at the resort leave nothing to be desired and ensure unforgettable experiences in the midst of the impressive Alpine landscape.
