The craniosacral comprises the skull (cranium), sacrum and spine. Also the dura mater of the spine and brain and fluids (liquor cerebrospinalis). This fluid protects the brain and spine marrow again injury, nourishes the brain, the spine marrow and the nerve endings which exit at the spine. Craniosacral therapy consists in pressing or pulling on the cranial bone using gentle manual techniques. The aim of treatment is to restore balance and order to the CSF and hence the self-regulatory capabilities of the body.
