Autogenic Training

Autogenic training promotes self-relaxation based on autosuggestion. Basic training starts with perception of gravity and heat which can result in a complete psychovegetative shift; within a very short time a phase of deep relaxation ensues. The concept of autogenic training is based on four principles:

1. Tension and relaxation

2. Concentration and calm

3. Training and learning

4. Shifting the nervous system and releasing tension throughout the body

The aim of autogenic training is to achieve a positive change, both physically and mentally, of bodily functions and perceptions that cannot otherwise be influenced. Mental stress is lowered, tense muscles relaxed and pain relieved. Autogenic training helps with insomnia, stress, psychosomatic disorders, gastric disorders and migraine.
