Foot reflex zone massage The foot reflex zone massage is a thousand-year old massage technique. People who like to go barefoot use this technique in a natural way. And it holds a key to our inner world!
Already over 3000 years ago, the Chinese discovered that the nerve endings are found in the foot. The feet are divided up into many defined zones with a direct connection to the respective organs of the body through nerve impulses. Since this treatment involves activating organs with these pressure points, the areas have been called "reflex zones".
The same also holds true for the palms of hands. However, the soles of our feet are much more sensitive and therefore the foot reflex zone massages seem to be more efficient. The masseuse stimulates the foot by using pressure with a finger or knuckle. Contact with the pressure point will make a connection to a particular organ via the blood and nerve pathways and other invisible pathways e.g., cell fluid). This activates the self-regulating medicinal powers. The person remains relaxed while the therapist uses different massage techniques.
According to the person's specific needs, the reflex zone is pressed, pushed, stroked or rubbed with different levels of intensity. The treatment usually lasts approx. 50 minutes.
| Not only do feet allow therapists to treat bodily functions. Variations of this treatment, such as the Penzel acupunkt treatment, can incorporate the body's meridian or energy pathway. Here the therapist rolls a metal rod along the meridian.
Nowadays, this form of therapy counts among the standard offers at good wellness hotels and supports the body's own energy generating powers.
